With all the rumors online about the PlayStation 5 getting delayed until 2021, is it possible that this worst case scenario could extend the lifespan of the PS4 all the way until 2025!? 5 years from now sounds like a heck of a long ways away for a console whose successor has already been announced, but we think there’s a very legitimate possibility that the PS4 continues to be a viable console 3 to 5 years from now. Why is that? Well, there’s more to it than just the rumored PS5 delay, so let’s get into it, right now!
The PS5 is rumored to cost around 500 to 600 dollars, depending on the version you get, but that’s not all you’ll need to pay. In order to get the best gaming experience possible on the PS5, you’re going to need to change your whole gaming setup from the TV all the way down to your external hard drive. We also know that Sony themselves expects the PS4 to last until at least 2022, but with all the developer support the console is getting, we think the console could go as far as 2025, with 2023 being a more realistic date.
