Sony’s Future of Gaming event was postponed and we all switched our schedules around to watch it on June 11th, 2020. It was well worth the wait as it was jam packed with enough game trailers to tide us over for a while. We also got a good clear look at the console. It’s curvy black and white look will make a glorious addition to that special space under the television.

We saw that there will be two editions: one with a disc slot and another without which they call the PS5 Digital Edition. As with all sales pitches, the price is the last item to be revealed. They have to make us feel like we can’t live without their next gen system. So far, it’s working.

We took notes on all the treats GTA players will be in for. We also got a glimpse of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The much anticipated Gran Turismo 7, a cornerstone of Playstation Nation, was revealed in all its glory and looked absolutely stunning. There were many cutscene trailers for other fan favourites such as the new Horizon game, Hitman III, and even NBA 2k21. A handful of games had gameplay sequences showcased as well.

We saw the accessories that will be initially available, probably at launch. An HD camera, a wireless Pulse 3D headset, and of course the DualSense wireless controller and it’s charging station were all shown. They also revealed their newest gaming slogan, the successor to PS4’s Greatness Awaits. It is Play Has No Limits, highlighting the new consoles seemingly infinite power.

No sign yet of the next generation of virtual reality gaming, the upcoming Playstation VR. We’ve heard it will dawn the moniker PSVR 2. Since it was not featured here, we can only assume we’ll have to wait until 2021 for more details on that.
