Donald Trump: Iran ‘standing down’ after missile strikes

Donald Trump maintained his silence for more than 12 hours after the missile attacks.

He addressed the American nation, striking a sombre note and vowing that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon while he remains President.

He appeared to interpret Iran’s actions as a sign that it was standing down and crucially didn’t threaten any further response against Tehran.
