The Sorcerer Supreme made his mark on screens across the country in October of 2016, but he’s set to make his big return with the release of Avengers: Infinity War. Doctor Strange has been through many different adventures since his first appearance on the page in 1963. But as we look back on the cinematic event starring Benedict Cumberbatch and look forward to all the action, mayhem, and twists in store for Infinity War let’s analyze some important secrets, easter eggs, and hidden details we may have missed in Doctor Strange on first viewing.
When considering the time loops that accompany the Sorcerer Supreme’s exploration of his powers, we can’t help but notice the similarities between Stephen Strange’s journey and that of the lead character from Groundhog Day. There’s the obvious cameo featuring Stan Lee, but did you notice the extra layer hidden with his performance? Also, let’s not forget the hints toward a future team-up with another Marvel favorite and a reference to lesser known hero that even some of the most astute fanboys may have failed to notice. Visually, there are nods throughout the film to the groundbreaking psychedelic artwork of the originally comics, from the cinematography and the music of Pink Floyd hidden on the soundtrack. And this doesn’t account for the Mindless Ones, Valtorr, and Shamballa. Check out the video and comment on what you think even ScreenRant may have missed about the latest adventure of the Master of the Mystic Arts.
