The Mario franchise is the most recognizable franchise in the video game world beloved by gamers of all ages. With over 250 installments and counting, the franchise is only getting bigger and better. If you play any Mario game, you know you’re going to have a good time. You might lose some friendships playing Mario Kart or Mario Party, but other than that, it’s good fun. While all of the games are rated E for everyone, there have been some off-putting moments in Mario games that are much too disturbing to be in a family friendly game.
In Luigi’s Mansion, we see Luigi’s shadow hanging awkwardly from the ceiling. Whether it’s intentional or just a glitch, it’s really creepy. Princess Peach doesn’t flat out deny she’s Bowser Jr.’s mother which is weird and has even weirder implications. Big Boo’s Haunt is easily the creepiest level in Super Mario 64 for so many reasons. Peach’s bloodcurdling scream in Mario Strikers Charged is so out of place, it’s actually quite funny. The beta game over screen in Luigi’s Mansion is really off-putting to say the least. Mimi’s transformation in Super Paper Mario is something you’re used to seeing in a rated R horror movie. A 4th place finish in Mario Kart 64 can lead to some disastrous results. In Mario Power Tennis, Mario takes out his frustrations on his brother Luigi. Stay tuned to see all these disturbing moments and more in TheGamer’s list of the 10 Most Disturbing Moments In Mario Games!
