Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri has announced that he’s resigning after almost two weeks of anti-government protests.
Huge demonstrations have taken place in every major city in response to austerity measures, including a new tax on WhatsApp calls.
But the real issue has been inequality and the inability of successive governments to deliver basic services, such as food and fuel.
