Within popular media, there are always those characters who can deceive the viewers and lead them into thinking their power equates to their appearance. For instance, there may be those characters who look strong, but are actually weak, or in this case, those who look weak and are actually quite formidable. Never judge a book by its cover is definitely a good quote to keep in mind when watching some of these anime series’, because even the most harmless looking character could still kick some ass!
First up is a fan-favorite, Assassination Classroom, which has students of every size and shape, but the weak looking ones are the deadliest. Although Nagisa Shiota is far from being the strongest or the tallest boy in his class, his abilities to overpower larger adversaries utilizing his tactics and speed alone make him a force to be reckoned with! My Hero Academia is another booming anime series which entails a world where humans naturally possess a superhuman ability, albeit some like the main protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, wasn’t so lucky. Despite his meager appearance, he quickly became one of the strongest heroes within his school.
Yamcha is definitely a heavily underestimated character within the Dragon Ball series, but the shocking thing is, he’s actually one of the strongest humans in the world. He was able to overwhelm beings who were previously strong enough to toy with Vegeta and were more powerful than Goku during early Dragon Ball Z. Maybe he shouldn’t be given so much crap when his feats are impressive for a lowly human fighter.
There are plenty more characters on this list who not only look like regular teenagers or little girls, but are actually strong as hell. Lesson is, there is more than meets the eye.
