Everyone loves Nintendo. Even the latest Nintendo Direct, which wasn’t exactly their most impressive showing, still garnered millions of views just to get a taste of what the company might have in store for the future. We may not have gotten any footage of Breath of the Wild 2, but we still got the promise of more Nintendo brilliance to come. The company has perhaps done more for the gaming industry than any other possibly could.
So what are Nintendo’s greatest accomplishments? That is a terribly difficult question to answer. For a video that is roughly ten minutes, I will hit some of the biggest games the company has brought into the industry. You likely know at least two I will mention. I will then touch on how these franchises have shaped gaming, directly influencing some of the biggest games that are hitting shelves today. It is hard to make a great game, much harder to make one that is still influential decades later.
I will also touch on the hardware accomplishments from the controllers to the innovative tech. Nintendo may not be at the front of the gaming hardware world anymore, but they shaped the world we exist in today. Finally I will touch on the philosophy behind it all that led to Nintendo becoming the powerhouse it is today. Shigeru Miyamoto’s brilliance built a company and an industry around it.
Let’s jump right into the biggest advancements Nintendo has made in the gaming industry.
