Ant-Man and the Wasp recently hit theatres in North America to major critical acclaim – that’s right, unsurprisingly, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has yet another major hit on its hands!
Despite the fact that it isn’t a big team-up movie like The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron or Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp has had a big impact on the MCU as a whole – and in this video, we’ll look at a few ways it has changed the franchise.
Please note that this video – and indeed this text – contain spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp.
The five things Ant-Man and the Wasp changes about the MCU are as follows; that it changes the dead-or-alive status of a number of characters (including Hank Pym, Janet van Dyne and Hope van Dyne), that it leaves Scott Lang as a free man following his house arrest for his part in the Civil War (although he is also now stuck in the Quantum Realm), that it opens the door for more pair-up movies in the MCU, that the Quantum Realm can now potentially grant powers to any given character in the franchise, and that the possibility of time-travel is now open to the heroes of the MCU, which could prove to be extremely important going forward – especially when it comes to potentially undoing Thanos’ actions in Avengers 4.
