This U.S. Fencer Is Named After a Warrior Queen—and It Shows | Short Film Showcase

Fencer Nzingha Prescod became the first African-American woman to win an individual medal at the Senior World Championships in 2015. In this short documentary, we see her training and hear her thoughts on her way to compete for the United States at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Filmmaker Anderson Wright brings us closer to Prescod, where we learn that she was named after a warrior queen from Angola—and see her show kids everywhere that nothing is impossible.
