On this episode of Ignition, Carlos Lago puts Mini’s most hardcore offering to the test! Like the last-generation GP edition Cooper introduced in 2006, the 2013 version is an uncompromising track-day focused machine. Utilizing new inverted dampers, bigger brakes and stickier tires, Mini claims it’s their best handling car ever! The 1.6-liter 4 cylinder engine is largely unchanged with peak output increasing only slightly to 218 horsepower and 206 lb-ft of torque with overboost. Will these changes prove to make a difference on the road, or is Mini’s latest effort just another badge and sticker job? Watch and find out!
