Weather reports announced a storm system in Oceania that would displace a strong swell that would hit Chile, Peru and Mexico. Big wave surfers Gabriel Villarán, Ramon Navarro, and Greg Long were on alert, eager for good surf after a particularly poor season, due to the El Niño phenomenon that extended the warm temperatures in the Southern Hemisphere.
