Remember the good old days? We’ll lovingly refer to them as the golden days of Pokemon. The time before countries found a way to rip-off our favorite characters and make them look like miserable shells of themselves.

Bootleg Pokemon toys have become all the rage around the internet lately and we couldn’t just ignore this bizarre trend. We had to explore it for ourselves and boy did we find some strange things along the way. We found Jigglypuff versions which look more like shiny aliens from outer space who couldn’t carry a tune. It’s okay though, they could still steal our soul if we stared directly into their eyes for too long. We also found the most frightening children’s rides in the form of Pikachu. These rides should come with a warning label: MAY CAUSE CHILDHOOD TRAUMA AND NIGHT TERRORS. How do we get this image out of our heads?

We also discovered some bootleg versions of Ash and Misty. We lovingly named one of them beauty school dropout Misty and the other Dracula Ash. Why on earth would Ash need to be a vampire? He’s already destined to be the greatest Pokemon master of all time. We can’t give the guy everything.

Don’t even get us started on the Rocket Team bootlegs because those ones seem to be endless. Every time we thought we’d found the last one, another reproduction popped up even more terrifying than the first. Who knew you could get Pokemon so wrong?
